Here are dimensions for spare wheel carrier for 2014 17.56 outback Expanda as requested by a few people hope they are easy to understand and also some dimensions may vary on different vans so measure twice cut once

Well I acquired a landcruiser spare wheel winder and then called in a favour from a friend and we spent last Sunday in the workshop. We decided to build a cradle and use the winder to raise and lower the spare. Here are the results:

The extra pics. After a few tests this weekend I can raise and lower the cradle with the tyre in it without using the winch. Makes for a quick tyre change.

Hi @vasco pyjama what did you use for the winder handle. I found the winch for $77.00 on ebay but they are $99.00 with handle. Does the Jayco supplied item for the jack work. I haven't even looked at the handle to determine. I am just at work browsing and thought I would ask.

mate i just went to the local Toyota dealer and got an extendable jack handle and cut the hook off the end and ground it down to suit the winder.

I just used a piece of reo rod , a bit of flat welded on end for winch and an old socket for a handle to fit.
