I thought I would post this protector I have made. I havent got a shed for my van as yet but have learnt from having fibreglass yachts that if they are kept well polished the they stay in good condition.
Bearing that in mind I figure that the top edge of the roller awing will be the most vulnerable part on my van sitting outside. This cover is just 450mm strip of vinyl with a pocket for the rope and an eyelet each end the corresponds with the awning arms, its laid along the roof above the awning, the rope is tied off to the handles and the vinyl is draped over the roller and cable tied off to the arms.
A cheap and easy protector made on a home sewing machine. Ive had it on in high winds and it hasnt moved.
