You only read good reports about MSA gear? I had sandgrabbas in the Paj and they were fantastic. Better fit than the one in the cruiser.

Re suspension just be aware without rear springs or airbags the van will bottom out the OE rear springs towing. you will notice the bump stops will have contact marks on them after a tow session and eventually the bump stops start to split.

Thanks for that @achjimmy I was a bit worried how it would got with the stock suspension so I would be thinking after the Xmas trip I'll be looking at a full upgrade, not really a drama as it was on the list of things to do short term.

Mr Bushi was nice enough to throw in a full set of factory carpet mats so I may sit these on top of the sandgrabba's for around home to keep that nice feel under the feet and just leave them behind when we go bush n beach.

I'm hoping $1K that the MSA reputation is worth it, only problem living in a regional area is the limited exposure to touch and feel a product before outlaying $$$$$$$, luckily forums like this make it a bit easier.

Well a quick update, picked up the covers Friday afternoon and fitted them this morning, not a fun job in 110% humidity but theu are on and the fit I must say is pretty good despite all the differing shapes and angles of the rear seats especially. All up took about an hour in total to fit the fronts and backs, inc 5 headrest covers and two armrest covers (front console and second row)

Took in for a bit of a drive down to Bundy and back, around 4-500km all up and very happy with the seat covers despite being brand new canvas they were quite comfy and soft feeling, which I imagine will only get better with time.

Also way less stressed when I hear from the second row "I cant find my water bottle" or "my biscuit is gone" so for that reason alone they are a great improvement.

Verdict is money well spent, especially when they are still doing their job in 5yrs time.

Pics to come..............................................:clap2:

Oh and I forgot to mention, it's the first decent drive we've had in the car since picking it up a week ago, and all I can say is.........................................................Love that car:first:

Well done!

You must be one of the first to get seat covers on quickly so they do their work.

(I've still got a set unfitted....new three years ago....and bought in case they were better than the temporary ones we'd fitted. I must do something about it)

Enjoy.

I like your style.....and the idea of taking the new car for a long run to test the seat covers!

And to reassure yourself all was right with your purchase....the car, that is.

Front Bar is on, had a couple of dramas with the fitting, dealer had it for 2 1/2 days............WTAF, but they wanted to be meticulous with the install as they know how picky I am and ARB god bless their hearts sent it with a stripped thread for one of the fog light surrounds, so the dealer instead of trying to patch it up or hide it ordered new parts overnight and when they got here it was the wrong part, another heated discussion with ARB and the wife picked up the car after lunch today, the dealer even gave us a loaner for the time as it wasn't ready the day we dropped it off.

Although inconvieient I will give Andersons Auto City Gladstone a massive wrap as they could have just hidden the stripped thread and I most likely wouldn't have known at least for some time, but the were upfront and very appolgetic for something which was beyond their control.

I can't believe I'm giving a car yard a glowing review, but so far my experience with them has been outstanding, lets hope it continues, anyway on with the pics.

Love hearing good stories about dealers/suppliers. Well done @JS4910. :clap2:

Very true.

You know, some times things stuff up. I know at my work it happens all the time! But it's how you deal with it, and the relevant (and important) stakeholders that defines the experience. I think everyone will accept some issues every now and then if they know their best interests are being considered.

And in the end @JS4910, in a years time, a day here or there, will matter naught when you know you've got a quality product and service.

The time didn't realy bother me too much as I'm away fro work so not home to miss it, the cheese and kisses on the other hand was less than impressed having to drive a round in a Holden Cruze instead of her new favorite Pajero.............................I know, first world problems......lol

Sandgrabbas arrived and installed today, I've put the MM carpet mats back over the top for now, I like the soft plushsness on my bare feet.......................hahahahahahaha

Must be going soft in my old age, I will take the carpet mats out when we head to the dunes or out bush.

They are a good fit and seem very sturdy so should last the same as the MSA seat covers.

Time to think about tinting the fronts and UV filming the privacy glass, spent 12 hrs in it on the weekend between Glady and Brissy return and although the A/C (both) worked brilliantly that sun on your arms is still a killer.

Well gave the Paj a bit of a run over the Xmas period, dragged the van down to Brissy and then out to Millmerran and back home via Dalby, Mundubbera, Monto and Biloela then home to Gladstone, 1700km's all up with the van behind.

Overall pretty happy with the performance and the economy, although I think I can better it with some adjustments to timetable and conditions. We averaged 16L/100km over the 1700km's with the first 600 pushing the rig at 100km/h to 105km/h into strong headwinds which gave us high 18's but settled till we hit the Toowoomba Range which I was a bit apprehensive about but it did well despite being blocked out by an idiot who jammed me up behind a B Double from which I had to actually brake and lost all momentum, eventually got around him and plugged away at 40km/h the rest of the way up keeping the engine temp below 100deg and the trans just a touch over.

One thing I noticed was how floaty the standard suspension is and how soft the rear springs actually are, especially on the backroads, on the Highways and freeways up the east coast were fine but out over the range the car struggled to remain stable, the van on the other hand was fantastic over these roads, I must congratulate Jayco on their suspension and chassis setup as it was rock solid no matter the road surface.

Anyway I fixed the problem while I had a few extra days off before I returned to work.

Old rears and new

And the finished product, got about 60mm lift all round although I wasn't really chasing height it should even up the van perfectly once it settles in.

I will see how the rears hold up and add Airbags or go HD when I start adding the 60lt Engel and storage in the rear, but for now it should be way better than the stock springs.

Just about to hit the 10K mark on the new tug with around 4K of that towing the 17.58 and I'm still smiling, even went for a 4wd trip to Kroombit Tops and saw the Beautiful Betsy crash site and tried out the Traction Control and Rear Locker, I actually think it performs better with TC than the rear locker ATM, until I do the TC mod so it comes on with the Locker.

No issues with anything, and returning mid to low 9's solo and avg mid 15's to high 16's towing all with the A/C on, so you got to be happy with that.

I think I will look at the HD springs and Airbags for the rears as the MD springs are a bit soft fully loaded with the van on, and I'm thinking I may well go draws in the back after all.

Should have brought the chainsaw, this came down across the track when we were at the Wall campground and is the only track in and out, luckily we were able to manhandle it out of the way....................................................just, never leave home without your recovery gear!17361848_10212223926618106_2418726429439314868_n.jpg 17264856_10212223927418126_4177629616226962197_n.jpg 17352312_10212223925258072_4987484268707022424_n.jpg 17361931_10212223924378050_7610699310957281033_n.jpg

Slight update time, just clocked 15K, without so much as an issue, sorry just one minor one, the drivers side mirror was slightly loose and vibrated on rough/corrugated roads, I mentioned it at the 15K service and 3 days later the car was back at the dealer with a complete new mirror assembly fitted, still very happy with the service.

Fitted my provent about 2 months ago, used the fitting kit from Western Filters so it was a very quick and easy install, about an hour all up, with 30 or so minutes of just looking under the bonnet.

With the impending drawers and fridge, second battery and compressor going into the back I'm looking at going to HD springs and with throw some Polyairs in at the same time just as a back up for extra loading if needed.

Probably going to tint the windows in the front and add UV film to the rest before it gets much hotter, surprising how much difference it makes, I've had it on the last few cars and wont be without it.

Economy is still around the 10/100 around town and I've seen an 8.1/100 on the hwy, unfortunately we haven't had the van out since May so no towing figures.
