Hi Everyone,

Tried to search with no luck

What is the best way to install a external table?

Screws or pop rivits?

Any tips?

Thanks mike

Hi @mike4103
I installed one a few years ago using Peel Rivets.
Here's some instructions.

I had my dealer install a heavy duty "Lifestyle" table. Only charged me $50 labour and did a good job. I chose the Lifstyle over the Jayco factory table as it can take more weight and being metal, heat from stoves and bbqs. Then I found out all the cooking vapour condenses on your side window, wall and awning leaving a film of grease. So now the table holds drinks and nibbles and I cook on a folding camp table away from the van.

Rivets or screws, screws done gently and both with a run of Sikaflex around the frame to give that added adhesion to the wall. Just make sure you use the correct drill bit for the rivets and a very small pilot hole for the screws. If it's a tin wall then rivets as the metal walls actually hold a screw less than the ply.

If you use the right adhesive, then screws (or other simple mechanical fixings) will only be used to hold the table until the adhesive cures. Or you could use tape until the adhesive cures.
