Heh guys,

Just putting it out there?
Anyone had any experience in the parks in Hervey Bay, currently looking at the big 4 (Fraser Lodge)
Got 8 weeks worth of work up there, taking the van, camping in that and the boys (employees) staying in cabins.
Family coming up every second weekend, me coming home on the alternative weekends.

Any feedback would be great.

Thanks Dean

Beautiful Burrum Heads QLD
We stayed at Fraser Lodge in March, great park, clean, quiet lots of ducks to feed and only a short walk to the pub. Ensuites are huge and clean and the park provides a TV cable so you can actually get reception, definately will go back.
Cheers

Have stayed at Happy Wanderer a few years back & off again this School holidays. The facilities were OK, pool, BBQ, good amenities, plenty of space, Quiet, etc, & they have heaps of Ensuite sites & cabins. I thought very reasonably priced as we are paying $57 a night for the ensuite site (2A, 2K) with 1 night free for the 1 week stay. Cheapest weve paid for an ensuite in ages & its the school holidays... it is a couple of blocks from the beach & a 5 min walk to nearest shops. They have one larger "super ensuite" large site with its own BBQ, picnic table & a washing machine in the ensuite which is an extra $10 a night but it was booked when i tried to get it!

Another vote for Fraser Lodge. We will be back!!! The Point Vernon park is supposed to be good too. Don't forget to join BIG4 to get a discount. You will make the $50 back pretty quick if you are staying that long!!!

We also stayed at Fraser Lodge in April. Fantastic park with great facilities, heaps for the kids to do, and great location. Kids didn't want to leave which is usually a good indication that it's a great park. If the kids are happy, Mum and Dad are happy!

We've stayed at the scarness beach cvan park a few times - good spot since it's very close to the beach, shops, pub and council play ground. Good if you've got a kayak. Good for launching the tinny as well as the boat ramp is about 250m away.

But - lorikeets were painful 1st time - 24/7 squawking last time and shat everywhere. People least early because of it. Local car clubers testing 1st gear and sub woofers can be annoying too but that what you get for being in a popular local spot. This park doesn't allow bicycles or scooters being ridden inside the grounds (as there is a bike path full length of the town but this isn't good for young'ins). Park has no play facilities for kiddies. Park managers are very strict with all the rules...

From above - reviews of the big 4 Fraser lodge sound good - we have booked there for a few nights this Xmas as I head further south so the kids can have more fun close at hand.

Cheers
