Exterior Gas fitting

OK, so I've gone out and bought a box to mount on the A Frame with the gas bottle inside. Got vents etc. What I would like to know is the regulator the same as a standard regulator on a flexible BBQ hose?

My issue is the hard copper pipe on the regulator makes it impossible to fit it all in the box.

Otherwise I have a new aluminum box for sale.

I think the flow rate is different

You can get flexible lines to replace the hard copper lines. Whilst the flow rate might different, the pressure should be the same so should be able to use a standard line

I had a mate (gas fitter) come and inspect mine before I was about to cut the main pipe and feed it into the box

he suggested unscrewing the regulator and feeding the pipe into the box - then re-fitting the regulator
like in the pic below from mine.....................

Had Dad check mine (Licensed Gas Fitter as my license had expired) and said all good as long as just disconnecting and no mods required to reinstall it!

Why is that? If it's just say canvas from an annex, would it matter?

the legalities are - it needs to be separated from anything and everything, and that nothing can damage them - like something falling on them, moving and damaging the pipe etc

minimum of 3 vents I think it is
I have
1 low (Gas Bottle side)
1 low (Gas Bottle rear)
1 high (opposite side of box)
also a drain underneath

the venting is so you dont have a BooBoo with leaking gas

Yep, plenty of vents and I'll separate via some sort of barrier.

They do have vents and barriers now @Drover ... That pic was taken during the installation phase!
I have pretty much the same as @bigcol
2 x vents on both ends. (high and low)
1 x vent per bottle on rear (low)
1 x vent/drain on floor per bottle

Does the regulator have to be vertical?

I'm also thinking of having the regulator outside the box. It's in the open normally anyway.

"The regulator must be a two stage regulator mounted vertically to a rigid mount, with the vent pointing down. The pigtail should slope down from the regulator to the gas cylinder to prevent liquid gas reaching the regulator." (Should also be slightly higher than the bottle)
