Hi all, well I have always justed plugged the webber into the gas bayonet fitting on the van but I want to get a two ring burner so I can cook stir frys and currys outside.

Has any one found a double adaptor for the bayonet fitting or run a short bayonet pipe to a 3/8 and used a double adaptor to give two outlets at one point?

I could just switch hoses each time but if I can plug both in then all the better but have not found much on google about a standard fitting.

Cheers all!

Would there be enough pressure coming out of a single to then split into two? Not sure but a great idea!

Oddly enough, I am doing the same thing for Christmas. So I have purchased the burner and ultimately I am going to put a second bayonet fitting beside the existing. Something my father already has on his van and works well.
But because there is not enought time before Christmas I have purchased a brass t-piece and extra hose plus a stop cock and some other connectors and going to add the extra line temporarily at the weber end.

We are on Gas Bottles at Home, the regulator is the same as is on the Van and I can run all five burners on the stove top and the oven at the same time
That being said I'd still get some advice from a Gas fitter

It would be better to install the extra bayonet properly and not stuff around with hoses and adaptors.

Or just have a spare 4 kg bottle for the single burner. That would not take up a lot of room.

Becareful using those cartridge cookers. You get what you pay for!

For longterm use, look at something like a single or twin auscrown cooker. They will last a lifetime, connect to normal gas plumbing connections and you dont run out of gas all the time, unlike cartridge cookers.

Mate that is all i use i have been everywhere with mine works great
only problem is in the cold weather sometimes the gas get to cold to run the burners but i just wrap them in a towel to warm them up cheers
brookes, i agree i use the butane burner for al my cooking and it is awesome, and very economical. They make a double burner one now which whould be very handy with a plate over both burners. Here is the link to a picture.

Geeez... Where were you the other day when I chose hoses as the temporary fix till I come back from hols.
Gas bottle would have been so much easier.

Thanks all, I had considered the butane solution but knowing myself I will always bring the cooker but not the butane cartridges :)....

I to also considered getting a 4kg bottle but again I know what ill do and ill bring the cooker and forgot the gas bottle :)!!!

At least with the onboard gas I only need to bring the cooker :) on the previous vans I have had I always had a bayonet at front and rear but this time around due to regs I could only get the one at the rear...

I am thinking of getting one of these -

And ill do as @Brad suggested and get a T piece and install this at the webber and connect the burner from there until I can get a second bayonet fitting put in.

Brad - What size T piece did you get and was it purchased at a chain store or a gas specialist?

Many thanks to all for the suggestions :)!!!!

Unfortunately it is a gas specialist. It is all imperial sizes.
All I did was took the gas hose in and married things up to that.

This is what I came up with for my t-piece. I went with a gas cock also on the new line to the burner.
The guys at the gas specialist place were really good. I also purchased some top quality gas seal for the joins.
I plan to put this together when I get down to camp.

Geoff happy if you can point out the areas where I should be checking for kaboom:boom::boom:

Cheers Brad....

I was down the gas shop today and voted against it so I didn't breach any regs and it looked like to many fittings which could possibly go wrong.

Interestingly the guy at the gas shop didn't really seem to care what I connected which was concerning and swayed my decision!

For now I am going to alternate the one hose between the two appliances until I can get Jayco to install a second bayonet.

Hi Expanda

Have been looking for something like this since we brought the van, have the bayonet fitting but nothing to cook on with it because our old cooker is high pressure. Excuse my ignorance but will this cooker hook straight onto the bayonet hose.

Thanks

Tony

Yep it certainly does as long as you had the bayonet fitted by Jayco then it should be fine.

I am using a 3/8 - Bayonet hose for mine and it works a treat.

Picked up the cooker yesterday and cooked a stir fry on it last night cooked a beautiful meal and had a nice and high heat.

Good luck!
