If looking for a Free Overnight Camps Spot at Armidale, I highly recommend this one. About 10mins west of Armidale, head out on Boorolong Rd past the University of New England. Take a fork right into Dumaresq Dam Rd.
Terrific views over the dam, with clean toilet and water. Very Quiet Spot. Apparently not bad fishing spot if you are into fresh water fishing.
Lots of room for any size rig, tightest spot is squeezing between a couple of fence posts when entering the recreation area, with about 500-700mm clearance either side of our 18.
Magic spot, good for a longer stay if desired. Large area, room for 20-30 vans
