Not sure if you can see from photo but after washing van for the first time and with wash supplied by dealer the black check plate has faded in a number of areas. I used a normal car sponge that I used to use on my Swan.
Has anyone had this problem. Van is only couple of months old.
I haven't spoken with dealer as yet.

Hi David,
I have the same issue with our van, the dealer didn't want to know about it to start with, Jayco in Melbourne's suggestion was have it replaced, I looked at that and thought no way they would have to trash the van to do that.
I have since decided to put up with it.
I have polished with fish oil, then a car polish which seems to work, I just need to finish it off.

I know some manufacturers use Armoral to give it that crisp look when new. Surprisingly, it lasts a while. I had to get some overspray of paint off mine and used thinners. It then looked really, really bad. Hit it with Armoral and it looked like new again. That was 4 months ago and still looks good. For the record, I am not suggesting to use thinners first!!

So did you try to hit the checker plate with the polish or this was just run off when washing it?
About to give mine some love in the next week or so.

The cheap tyre black spray from SCAuto works a treat too. Makes anything old look new again. Mud flaps. Faded towbar tounges. Bumper bars etc.
