As part of the homeward journey we booked in advance something we rarely do to stay at Airlie Beach from the brochure it is supposed to be a four star .. well this must have been graded 30 years ago
We arrived and paid the three days wife not happy at site small jammed in next to car wash a dirty old van permanent behind us and fishy smelling overflowed rubbish bins next to site, with a creek near by also a guy with a huge fishing boat across from us making it very difficult to park luckily site opposite had no one on as had to drive over that straighten up. There was no where for us toi park our car on the site so parked in front of van . Wife decided after I started putting the van up to call the other BIg 4 at Canonvale which is 4.5 stars and we could get in tomorrow onwards so she went to the office and insisted on a refund for the next two days . The office staff did not seem to preturbed and said could they put us somewhere else No . There are very few large sites and appear dedidcated to take Britz campers etc . So hopefully tomorrow will be better also the picnic trables are rotting and appear delapidated and the whole park could do with a smarten up and clean the excess of leaves from the park....
