Melbourne based Diamond and Billabong caravans gone toes up
Damn, could have grabbed a cheap shell and built a CrustyBagoI'm pretty sure I saw a Pickles auction clearing out Billabong's factory last week.

Actually there was a few cheap shells and partially complete caravans on there. For someone of your handyman skills you could have built your own ultimate van fairly cheaply.
Wow I had noticed the shop had closed but did not realise they were in this situation. Good news for them as there seemed to be plenty of their vans around.Well it was posted somewhere that New Age went to liquidators just recently but couldn't find the post/thread anyway just come across this, looks like they are saved from extinction..............https://www.caravancampingsales.com...74.2037509589.1550897100-903146013.1550897100

Talked a bit to a guy from New Age today at the show. He was positive about having the Walkinshaw HSV team working on the engineering. One task they had was to redesign the lifting mechanism for the Camper Trailer range that was canned a year or so ago due to problems with this mechanism. The HSV team did the redesign and the vans are now back in production. I got a good look at the winding mech and it is certainly not a copy of the Jayco design.
Apparently turning out these camper trailers at the rate of one per day. They are more expensive than the equivalent Jayco but seem to be less expensive than the Goldstream.
They are planning on eventually rationalising each model to three variants: basic, comfort, and adventurer.

My impression was that Walkinshaw has been a partner for some time and increased his interest to almost 100% last November. I understood that the original owner, Gabby Montagnese, still has a small interest. So if thats the case the dealing has been going on for quite some time behind closed doors if design teams have been playing around, only a week or so back the liquidators called in then shortly after Walkinshaw announce the buy..........................Poor reporting or something smells.

I never heard anything about them going into liquidation. There is nothing about it on the Lemon Caravans & RVs in Aus FB site. They are #2 in the market. If they went under it would have made a very big splash and details would not be hard to find.

Now I am confused. The post you refer to is in the thread about Kakoda being put into administration nothing I can read there about New Age. Or have I missed something?
