Queenslanders permanent and temporary can, at the moment head to NT and SA, no iso, hang around NT or SA for 14 days, apply for a WA G2G pass on day 15 and into sand gropper country you go, no iso............... Honourary QLDer's- Victorians can run for home via NT and SA just can't get out and the NSW mob well they can jump back home but again can't leave, ACT well they won't let you in at all, if you do get into Canberra its ISO at home ................

SEQ lockdown won't happen till after the Grand Final..........................

I was hoping that with regional NSW opening up it would allow Vics/Sth NSW/ACT folk to head home but looking at the NSW map their regional areas still shut down actually encompass most of the roads you could use to head south, only one possible I can see is if you run Texas/Warialda or Tenterfield/Tamworth to Gunedah then to Coona onto Gulargabone through the National Park (road runs along the lockdown shire area) then be able to run thru Warren onto Condobolin then wind your way to West Wyalong and escape ................ well you could run the Pacific and jump over the mountains but yuck.
Of course Vic still has to open up to NSW anyway.

You are right @Drover. I think we are about to be over-run. We're screwed and will end up like NSW and Victoria. Stay safe and keep away from people!! Werribee is between Melbourne and Geelong.

The latest QLD Road Map here .................... when you read the fine print it doesn't really mean you can enter if your in NSW or VIC unless they give the Hot Spots in those states the all clear ...........

At present QLDers can enter NT and SA but still require to be in SA or NT for 14 days before heading to WA ..............
Entry to NSW is not a drama just can't get home, travel from QLD to VIC thru NSW is okay, double jabs and need a permit, so long as you stay away from SYDNEY its an orange zone but again return to QLD is a no go and entry to SA is not an option at present from NSW or VIC..........

Nothing new on the QLD front but going by news reports it will pay to read the fine print as the reporting is all about headlines, so when it opens it won't all be doom and gloom, well unless you source of info is Facebook or Twitter of course............

For those who its too flamin Hot/Windy/Cold/Wet outside here are some marvelous stats for you to browse thru, especially if you want to know where the Talking Heads get there partial bits of data that they announce.

I'm planning to cross the border Dec16, would be earlier but Grandkid sitting......

If you're making travel plans, keep in mind things could change ahead of a border opening that could be just days away.

Then there's the impact on prospective tourists coming into Queensland. An interstate family of four who might be thinking about taking the kids to Sea World this Christmas now has to accommodate into their budget $600 worth of COVID tests (this includes anyone in the family aged one and over).

If the Queensland government was hoping that its recent Holiday Dollars campaign — which included $100 travel vouchers for the Gold Coast — would be an incentive for travel then it stands to reason that a $150 COVID test would be a disincentive to choosing Queensland as a destination.

with the tests.
I assume a lot of families will just turn up to a drive through test centre 72 hours before they leave towing the caravan.
Go Cough Cough we all feel crap and get tested, get the result hopefully before the border and go in :)

I can understand not wanting COVID into QLD.. Although going to be a lot just go up the NSW coast and miss QLD

The headlines don't tell the real story, the neg test needs to be within 72 hrs of entering QLD so testing is not a QLD Government cost its on another state, of course the test is free as that tickle in the throat, headache or sniffing may not be hay fever it could well be early symptoms of Covid, so hysteria generated by the news is not needed really as its been the case all along...................

Annas roadmap hasn't changed much I'm waiting to see what she decree's, officially, not in a media hump and my movement south of the border depends on SA's situation a swell.......................... The thing that hardly gets mentioned which is the issue is if Anna will lift the Hot Spot Zoning for NSW, VIC and ACT .... Its all iin the fine print, if you rely on the papers or social media you could be caught out.......

QLD RoadMap as of 22/11 ............................ If no jabs then no entry...

Opening to internationals with how Europe is going is a worry but thats what these drop kicks are protesting about so it may be good to watch them get sorted out when the next bit hits the fan here, the state of the hospitals is a big enough incentive for me to get all the jabs.........

I can report that the Qld border controls were non existent today entering Qld from the NT at Camooweal.

Had some friends who had been travelling over from Broome heading to our place for Xmas. They did the right thing, obtained permit, avoided the Katherine hotspot, but still had to travelled through the lower end of the hot spot on the Buchanan Hwy and then down to Threeways before heading east. The trip itinerary was required and provided as part of their permit application. They arrived at the border around midday today and there were no border police to greet them entering Qld so they drove straight in.

Apparently the NT police were checking entries into the NT from Qld.
