Hi Steve it’s unusual for no one to jump in, when you undo the four screws the face plate should come loose, it will hang on the control wires that are attatched to controls, the control knobs should pull away to allow you to release controls from panel, I say should, as mine were tight enough to make me think they would break. After looking at the price of the panel and the fact it is a very common issue I made the decision to repair not replace, photo pretty self explaining, used carpet moulding with silicon to bond and strengthen cost all up around $10 , it’s now stronger than original

If you look at the back of the panel you should see the control box heron in their infinite judgement have screwed the panel to that with 2 captured bolts one is accessible the other not. I had to destroy the old panel to remove these screws. When it came to fitting the new panel I secured the panel using the accessible Bolt (which is enough by the way) and the knobs. Hope this helps

As Coys said not as easy as just removing front panel.Take the vents off above and see if ac moves up and down.Block it tight if necessary. My new large panel has cracked again at left lower screw ,drill out front panel holes so as ac does not rest on the screws. This applies to the 2.2 with one large and one small panel.
