Just wondering if anyone has replaced the timber in a bed end base. We have an 08model expanda and the bed base is water damaged. Looks like bed base is plywood with possibly a laminated fibreglass external surface.

Never replaced one but have pulled one off on a later model...... You would need to use a good quality marine ply or form ply and its the outside wall when folded up I think ??? You would need to use a 2 pak on it or get a paint shop to do it before you refit it back on so it blends nicely.....

Thanks for your response Drover. The back side of the bed base on early model expanda’s is the front of the van. Early model expandas don’t have a hard lid / bonnet to retain the bed ends. For this reason the Bottom side of the bed end has a laminated fibreglass finish. I’m just not sure if the fibreglass is a seperate piece or if it is actually part of the plywood base. Can the fibreglass be separated from the plywood base?
