My GPS is the wife! Comes with overspeed alerts, driving tips, faultless navigation (if we get lost it's not her fault!) and a familiar voice!

I'm using the Garmin Nuvi 1450T, this one allows for map updates using topographic maps from Garmin and has free map updates for life.

The unit has clear voice direction and even says the names of the streets to turn into.
As an added bonus you can have your wife record her voice and will give ou instructions of where to go even while she isn't there.
