Exterior Water hatch door replacement

Hi
Has anyone replaced the plastic water hatch door on 17.56 with something more substantial?

The plastic lock on ours keeps busting open/off and the plastic door looks like it would break without much effort.

I agree with you about the cheap feel of it but our 2009 Expandas filler and door lasted 5 years unscathed and its the same filler on our new van.

Maybe you have an extra cheap faulty one .... although if you did it would be easy to assume that they are all crap because there would be a fine line between a functioning one and a crap one

On the other Expanda I did cut a piece of 12mm ply with matching holes, disconnect all the pipes at the rear of the filler unit and siliconed the ply on the back of the filler box (on the back of the box on the inside of the van) .... that strengthened the filler box and it felt much more substantial and durable

Not sure yet if ill bother with the new van
