A little worried, looked closely at my Trigg/Tregg (whatever) hitch and noticed it says 2000kg. Um....TARE weight on my van is 1980kg or similiar and ATM weight is 2456kg. Someone please put my worries to rest and say its ok? Could this be a BIG Jayco oversight?

I wanted a Tregg hitch on mine as well and Jayco said NO because the van exceeds the max limit of Tregg 1800kg...which I thought was a bit low ans I know you can get them 3000kg+
He advised me to have it fitted after delivery somewhere else.

May be Jayco sell light versions of them...

here's a 3000kg TREG one (note: note TREGG) http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/OFF-ROAD...Accessories&hash=item19cb11bd12#ht_640wt_1396

I have a tregg on our Expanda and it was fiited from the factory and its 3T rated

When I ordered our Expanda I asked for a tregg bigger than 2T and as told they only do the one size :frown: yet it turned up with a 3T one it :high5:
I would recheck with the salesman as I dont think they know what they come with

Ok just to confuse you I went out to the shed to recheck my tregg rating and yep its got 3000kg stamped on it next to the poly block. I then spun the block over it says 2000 kg, on the other side now I'm confused.

Our Expanda is only a 16'' so we are still within the 2T limit but what I dont understand is the 2 different weights?

Maybe spin around your poly block and see what it says on the otherside. There is a part no. next to the weight also but I couldn't see where the part no. is stamped onto the coupling anywhere :frusty:

If you look closely.. on one side 2000kgs but on the 3000kgs, look even closer you will notice 2000kgs over-ride (no brakes) 3000kgs non over-ride (brakes).

well don't I feel like a D$#k!

I dont think you or I would be the only ones who questioned it

I went out again (2nd time) and cleaned the dirt off the bit where it says ''non over-ride'' and ''over-ride'' I was concentrating more on the weight stampings :peep: maybe I should have looked closer :o
