We are planning a trip to the Flinders Ranges and would like to use the van tank water for drinking and mains for everything else.
But the way jayco has set up the plumbing that seems to be impossible to do both at the same time.
I think i will need to run a new line to the filter tap direct from the pump, does this sound correct or is there a better way.
Cheers.

It would be easier to set up a dedicated pump and line to your drinking water tap than run a line from the main pump as you would need to isolate the pump from the mains pressure line, I suppose a 12v solenoid cut off would save crawling under the van, so either either then.

Fear not, where there's a will theres a way. Upgrading to a bells and whistles 20.63.1 I was equally as astounded as you. Necessity (and owning a Jayco) is the mother of invention.

I sourced a normally open 12v 3/4 irrigation solenoid permanently installed inline directly behind the mains filler and piggy back wired directly to the water pump, and as a flow-on unrelated mod relocated all the water pipes along the wall and into the adjoining cabinet with the HWS, freeing up the space in the original cabinet.

When I turn on the water pump, that also automatically powers up the solenoid which physically shuts off the mains and limits water in the van to tank water. If the mains water is particularity disgusting tasting (such as QLD, NSW, WA, SA, TAS and WA), just bleed the first few seconds on tank fed water out the tap before the Melb world best water appears like a holy apparition. Its automatic, and requires no more thought or input than flicking the ump switch. Simples ... just like me

I have decided to run a complete new run of pipe to the filter tap at the kitchen sink and the cold tap in the bathroom basin.
To do this I bought 10mtrs of john guest blue colour pipe and a few joiners and some floor grommet's.

I had to drill 2 holes in the floor, 1 under the sink area and 1 in the pantry.

fitted a divider under the van to split the water between filter tap and basin

Blue line going to the filter tap small tube.

I joined in to the tank pump water just after the pump and accumulator.

Fitted a isolation tap to shut of mains back to the pump but I think the one way valve I have fitted inline may do the job.

.
Will see how this all works when connected to mains and will keep informed
