Chassis spare wheel relocation - removal of old frame

The spare went to the back bumper long ago and i've got a box on the front bar.
As generally common the spare originally sat dropped down within the A-frame.

Anyone know if I can cut off the original spare wheel frame, or is it acting as bracing for the chassis??

One day I am going to relocate my spare tire and turn the old location into a firewood carrier by installing some mesh.

It wouldn't be structural but it can be handy as an extra skid bar, I turned mine into a rack for my hoses and stuff by making a mesh box to fit.

Chassis engineer says ok to cut off.
unfortunately, converting it to another purpose doesn't stop it hitting on the steep driveway in and out of the yard (or other places)

Mine used to as well until I redid the springs and stuff, our driveway required 4WD to get up...
