I'm looking at getting one of these shade privacy screens for short stays as we travel up the east coast for a couple of weeks starting next week. I'm looking at either the coast to coast or camec ones. Has anyone who has tried both got an opinion on which one is better or are they both equally OK. Thanks.

Another vote for pegs and occy straps, I carry a pack of 20 X 75cms I brought from the big green shed for around 20 bucks as they come in handy for lots of tasks.

Hi Axl, pick up my pop top soon and will be buying shades. I noticed in the picture you have a pop top and the side shade angles up to the roof which looks great. I thought the side shade attached to the awning support coming off the side of the van which leaves a gap between the top of shade wall and roof awning. Could you explain this to me please?

@Imo I am sure @Axl will confirm his option but the angled end shades usually come with a rope sewn into the top edge. They fit into the sail track of an Anti Flap Bar.

I had our "pop top shade wall" modified by adding a triangular section of white PVC to the top of it with a rope sewn in the top and the wall side of the van.

I love these shade walls, they create more space under the awning as they are angled, great airflow and all round easy setup. Big thumbs up from me.

Privacy is good through the day however at night you can see in very easily.

Have used them all the time we have been away this trip but came unstuck last night as we had some heavy rainfall.

I have purchased a second hand expanda that came with the coast to coast privacy screens, but it did not come with any anti flap "thingys" so can't use the end screen that has the rope rail sewn into it. Any suggestions on where I would get the anti flap poles. Is it a Jayco part or aftermarket.

welcome to the forum @Falco - you will notice we occasionally do a Dobbie (drift off track) but return every now and again

the anti flap bars, you can get from Camec, Australia wide annexes, Caravan suppliers
easy enough to get - sometimes they are on fleabay & Gumtree
(click on the blue writing to open page)

would you like to start an thread all about you and your Van
types of travel you have done
what you would like to do in the future
etc?

I had the same problem and got the Aussie traveler from campsmart.net.au.

http://www.campsmart.net.au/long-size-230-240-cm-anti-flap-kit

There are three different sizes - you just need to measure your arms.

I snagged an Aussie Traveller AFK off gumtree yesterday for $100.

I'm wanting to put up a solid wall end on my awning. Anyone seen one, they all seem to be shade ones. Might have to get something made up similar to what you've got @dagree .
I don't want to run the sail track down the caravan wall. Basically will only use it when setup at my parents place. Caravan is always facing south there so when the southerly hits with rain it comes straight across my door.
