Used to go camping as a kid and we had one of those canvas tents on the top right of the screen.............but never camped on gibber rocks, ouch.
Keep em coming..................

Great stuff @megcam , yep hessian stretchers, square canvas tents with wooden poles and ropes, a small awning out the front and a metho stove for cooking, can opener, billy and camp oven with a Coolgardie to keep the milk and butter in, nothing else was needed...................................Wow.

And an en suite was a shovel and a roll of toilet paper and a torch so you knew where to dig.

And lights were powered by metho if you were lucky

And a comfortable bed was at home...and you weren't there.

Navy used to have beer issue at sea with the Large cans, 20c each usually Resch's Pilsener, sailors will drink anything, oh we drew the line at EMU and West End...........................................you can still find the rusty hulks of steel tinnies from years gone by in out of the way places........eg: across the river from Nindigully Pub.
