Let me be upfront in saying that I am not a handyman so have to rely on others for any mods to my van.. I have a 16-49-1(2008) and am wanting to put the spare tyre on the rear of the van. i live in the northern suburbs of Melbourne and so looking on advice to where to go and have it done.
Thanks

I can't help with Melbourne but as @MDS69 has said, the first thing would be the rear bar and I think on your model it would be a round bar. These are unsuitable for mounting a spare wheel, they are not stong enough and anything clamped to it would end up spinning around.
Here is the one I did on my previous van.

These photos might give you some idea of what can be achieved.

But in hindsight, I would recommend investigating having the spare under the back floor. You can buy a spare wheel attachment that you wind up and this holds the wheel up against the floor. We couldn't on this 16.9.3 as I already had another water tank at the back

Put it underneath but as for someone to do it for you, can't help..................other threads on the subject cover the pro's and cpn's.

thanks for all the replies. I will have a look under but I already have some pole holders underneath and it is pretty low and the back end already scrapes on driveways etc.

Check out the details on my old Drovers 14.44.3 thread, I fitted a drop down tyre rack to it, on a round bumper and it didn't snap off, required a little bit of bracing and a saddle welded to the pipe for the stand to be welded to and all was good......just went to underneath as i got sick of getting muddy....if the bum is dragging might need to roll your axle give a bit more height.

Waiting on a reply from a caravan parts supplier but I'm going to do a Windsor Rapid type fold down spare wheel mount. I'll have to relocate the number plate but that's an easy adjustment.

Have to relocate the number plate anyway, the secret is getting at the light wires...............easier to buy another led number plate from Supercheap and tap into the wires than try and move the original....
