Hi All,

We are planning to go from Melbourne to Coffs Harbour in January. We have a booking at Coffs and will have ~10 days to travel up and ~6 days to travel back.

We haven't seen much of NSW other than Sydney. Our rough plan is to travel inland on the way up and visit places like Dubbo (for the zoo) and maybe Bathurst/Orange, maybe Tamworth?. On the way back we plan to go via the coast and maybe visit Jervis Bay?

We are travelling with kids and normally stick to caravan parks mostly. Any suggestions of place to go?

Thanks!

Some beautiful spots right down the coast from Coffs, Forster is lovely, Pt Macquarie Breakwall is walking distance all over town. Tawoon Bay is great for the kids on the central coast and a short trip to the Gosford motor museum and Reptile park.

Bonny Hills, NSW
There are do many great spots along the coast. Depends if you like busy or quiet towns. If you like quiet the Big 4 at Bonny Hills is in a nice small beach town 20km south of Port Macquarie. Great park for kids. Hat Head is quiet spot with a beautiful creek you can float up and down when the tide turns. Lots of beautiful fish to see when snorkelling. Also a great patrolled beach, as well as bushwalking. South West Rocks is another good spot too, Trial Bay Gaol is worth a visit, the beach there is great for kids as is Horseshoe bay in town.
