Hello,

I accidentally disconnected 2 of the 4 plugs behind the hot water on/off switch / reset light internal panel in my Jayco Starcraft 17.58-3

I believe the brand is a "suburban" and possibly sw6dea

Looking from the back, the on/off switch had one red cable in the bottom plug and the top I do not know

Looking from the back, the reset light has 1 brown plug and the top I do not know.

The 2 cables that are disconnected are 1 red cable only and the other one is black/white/green.

Not sure which goes where. I could be Jayco specific wiring as I cannot make sense of it compare to the wiring diagram. Will ring Jayco on Monday if no luck here.

Any ideas?

In my photo, the cable unplugged looks like it has black and white only, but green is in there too.

The other one out of the picture is red by itself.

You guessed it.

Was trying to see what sort of access there was behind that section of wood to see if I could mount the diesel heater controller in that space, there is hardly any space there so installed the controller next to the bed instead.

I will give Jayco a ring on Monday and post back if they can advise in the meantime.

Thanks for the offer Crusty.

The 2 cables that are disconnected (top lugs on both) are;

- 1 cable red only
- 3 cables, black, white and green

I think if you can see which bunch plugs into which top lug that should get me out of trouble.

Using my phone, should have read your post again instead of just the pics, only 2 options so at a guess I would say Red on the switch, as its a continuation of the power feed and the multi colour job goes on the light, why the tri cable is beyond me but that sounds the most sensible I think without pulling out the meter.

I called Jayco this morning and they already had a picture of the back wiring. It did not quite match up with mine but it did have 2 wires (not 3 like in my case) on the top connector of the reset switch.

So I connected the red wire only to the top connector of the switch and the black/white/green wire to the top if the reset light and all is good. Tested a few times on and off and no issues.

Thought it was harmless to pull the panel out to see how much room there is behind to possibly install the diesel heater controller but shall not fiddle there again. Diesel heater installed and working :)

Fallen for that trick myself, removed a clearance light, lead came off because they only allowed 15mm of lead, stupid morons, ended up making a jumper cable....after spending an hour trying to get hold if the thing as it fell inside...
