what have other people done to cover the gas hot water switch on my 2012 expanda my kids keep on hitting with there feet turning it on.

On a mates van we made a small frame of quad which surrounded the housing and stopped it getting hit, I have seen them recessed where they cut out a hole and put a backing block of timber behind and then refitted the switch, the switch panel was then out of the way of errant feet or brooms, have also spotted one where the owner replaced the light with a small led light and the switch with a rocker switch which had a shield fitted like an aircraft armament switch cover, flip the cover then the toggle switch, looked very flash.
Just bought a boxed highlighter thing from the cheapy shop for $2. Cut a hole in the back and screwed it on in front. After our little fire episode a few years ago after the kids had knocked on the gas hot water with there feet I HAD to do something. Quick, cheap and easy to fit.
