Hi all, considering a AWD TDI Territory for a tow vehicle for our 2010 17.56 Expanda, like to hear some feedback good, bad & everything in between Cheers.

A Diesel AWD towing capacity is 2700kg. I used a Territory for many years and did the centre and Nullabour plus numerous other trips. Great tow car!

I am pretty sure the awd diesel is rated at 2700kg towing and 270kg on the ball. Our territory rwd is only rated at 2300 kg but have no trouble pulling our Starcraft which is about 1900 kg.

I know we looked when we had the 17.58 Payload was not high. If you have the car check the plates.
You would think it pull higher ok as the engine/auto are the same in the late models D3 and early D4 Land Rovers which can pull 3500.
Although it chassis and rear axle etc all from a Falcon so that would drop it down

Cannot find the Tare GVM figures online easily now.. Here is a article from Caravan world.

Older Towing guide has TARE and GCM not GVM

Is hard to find the figures and model variations but basically if you have the towing capacity figure for the model minus 500kg gived a good baseline to to see what it will legally tow, unless its a Cruiser as you load up the tug you loose on the tow as your magic number of the GCM gets closer, it's a broad figure but good rule of thumb because if you are towing near the max it's not really doing anything any good, a 3.5t tow cap dual cab in reality is limited to about 3t max once you load the ute up.
