Hi Guys,

I am unsure how many of you suffer from the dreaded slow draining main sink in the Expanda. I have now found a solution which means you also only need one waste pipe connection instead of the 2 clear pipes that run to the ground.

All you need to do is place a Hepvo low pressure check valve after the floor drain in the bathroom. This will stop the sink from getting an airlock and will allow the sink to drain correctly without fluid going back up into the shower floor.

I can post pics if anyone is interested but it seems to be working perfectly without any drainage issue and just the one waste outlet.

Thanks
Doug

I fitted one of the Hepvo valves at the bathroom plumbing when I fitted my grey water tank.
The water flows that quick from my kitchen sink now that when I try to drain a little water out of the sink and put the plug back whilst the water is still draining the complete plug gets sucked down the drain pipe.
I have to remove the pipe under the sink just to retrieve the plug.

I wish you would all stop putting up good solutions to problems that up till now I have been happily tolerating!!!:frusty:

The slow draining sink is a tad annoying but I will never get away again if I do all these mods:ballchain:

I guess I shouldn't complain, we are getting some beautiful rain here today so maybe it is time to spend a little time in the shed in the van.:encouragement:

The part numbers for the fittings to connect 25mm pressure pipe to the Hepvo valve are as follows( all from Bunnings)
9314632001108 dwv pvc art plastics 32x40 adaptor PWADP3240Q $2.44
9319841039799 press pvc valve socket 32mm x 1.1/4in P V VS32M
9319841035395 press pvc bush reducing 32mm x 25mm PVB3225 (also used one of these bushes at the tee to convert 25mm to 40mm waste for sink pipe, although not a tight fit it stilled glued up OK)
Here are some pictures

The above quote is from when I installed a grey water tank to my Base station.
I needed all the above fittings to connect the Hepvo valve

Just checked my thread and yes my hepvo valve was 40mm

I have been think about fitting a Grey water tank to the basestation for a while now and have been searching this forum and other internet sites but is very hard to work out the correct way to do it.
So I have been collecting the parts that I feel I need and have starting to install a grey water tank.

This is just some of it

The basestation has 2 water waste drain pipes fitted as standard (one from the shower and the other from both the kitchen sink and hand basin)

Looks like this

One of the first things I have read about is stopping smells and grey water coming out from the shower drain and I think the best way to stop that is to fit a Hepvo Waterless valve 40mm

Looks like this

So I started to cut the factory pipes to install the waterless valve into the shower drain and then join the sink/basin pipe and shower pipe to a T piece to connect to the grey water tank.

Now my plumbing looks like this

The tank that I am using is black poly tank brought from a RV store, The Tank dimensions are - 1170L x 640W x 170H and comes with 2 x 1 1/2 inch BSP threads to suit 40mm inlet and outlet fittings and 2 x 1/2 inch BSp threads for flush and vent of tank. The tank also came with mounting bars

I attached the mounting bars to the rear of the basestation just behind the 3rd water tank.
I drilled the mounting bars to suit the factory holes in the Jayco under floor cross members
