Expanda 14.44.3 Bed Width

Hi Everyone
Am thinking of buying a 14.44.3 Expanda - brochure doesn't give bed width and length - anyone have one that you could run a tape measure over that ? We also wanted to convert the dinette for an occasional sleepover for a child and that is 1.7m, which is adequate - but it is the rear bed we forgot to measure up

Gday I have the 16.49.2 but I think the 14.44.3 bed is a queen bed same as the 16.

If it is I can measure my one for you.

Thanks Expanda if you could do that it would be a big help - reason for wanting exact measurements is that we want to add a bed extension so we can sleep across the bed, so we both can get out of bed at night without climbing over each other. The "extension" is a box used for carrying bits and pieces that goes in the area between shower wall and robe, box lifts out of the way onto the bed durng the day and under the dining table for travel - a made to measure foam or inner spring mattress sits on top and is attached to main bedding with velcro. This type of thing has worked for us in the past in the UK in a motohome. Photo of what we are thinking of is posted in the photo section. Warts and all comments appreciated - we are doing it blind at the moment as the Jayco dealer near us does not have any on display.

G'day Traveller. I know it has been a while since you posted but we have just ordered our 14-44-3 and I have just joined the forum. We spent a fair bit of time in a Jayco yard looking at the model we wanted and comparing it to others. We are convinced the 14-44-3 is what we need and I agree with your reasons for the modification you plan. However your travel storage will require some more planning. The box will not go under the table as there is a leg mounted on the floor and a mudguard taking up half the area. But it can be carried anywhere as long as it will not slide around so, go for it.

Hi Chartrock

We have picked up our Expanda 14.44-3 and are very happy with our choice - we ordered the van with a dinette bed conversion and the section that fits down to make the bed beyween the seats is also a perfect fit for our rear bed extension - with a shortened leg and a support along the back of the dinette seat - we now sleep rear to front instead of side to side - no climbing over each other.
