I think it was someone in QLD.

The little bit of wire used to hold the fly screen open - someone had a longer version so the fly wire could be held open AND you can open the kitchen window at the same time.

Hard to describe, but if you recall the thread you will know what I am talking about.

Thanks

Thats a bloody brilliant idea.... Something to do tonight I think - Shouldn't be too hard to bend a coat hanger into the right shape.. lol

$70K on a van you shouldn't need to spend anything to fix an obvious design fault....just saying that is.

I just made an extension with No 8 fencing wire with coloured heat shrink over it to make it look pretty and not scratch.

Mines only a "chromeish" looking piece of wire. And I agree with @Drover you shouldn't need to spend anything on a fault that makes no f'ing sense in the first place.

I agree we should have to fix anything - design fault or *lack of quality control* but it is what it is.

I like the idea of shrink wrapping the wire.

Only thing i can see being an issue is it will hang down past the black plastic handle trim. Meaning youll get grey scratch marks on the door. I feel another print coming on lol

enjoy the print - but I think the wire should sit proud of the van (by a few mm) as long as it doesn't get bent.

If you do print a new outer handle - +1 interested :)

That sort of thing has been a problem on various models for years, they just don't seem to look or listen....can get tidy little nylon clips that will hold it in position when not in use, they don't look out of place..........thankfully Big Mal doesn't have the problem but probably would have if it didn't have a sliding window.

I recall some making an extension with pool noodle and an okky strap or something like that.
