As part of the return drive home from Qld after stopping at Moree in the afternoon for the thermal pools decided to a slightly different trip home to normal instead of straight down the Newell to Vic we turned off at Dubbo passing through Wellington and Orange (these areas definitely need more exploring by us ) then free camped about 50km south of Orange near Blayney at Carcoar dam

What a fantastic little free camp it has flushing toilets and 2 showers (missing curtains) very clean there is power in toilets for shavers and hairdryers only no power or water available at dam for personal use to vans (however we used the van shower)

Lots of lovely green grass, can have little fires at night situated equidistant from Bathurst, Cowra and Orange . In the distance up on the hills is the gentle turning of the wind turbines , could not really hear them there are ducks on the ponds
Counted at least 30 vans last night looks like very popular this is in the free camps book

Thanks for that, we have friends who live about 1.5hr from there heading south.
I'll keep it in mind for the next time we visit them, it will be a nice overnight stop over on the way
