It's been a hectic 3 weeks nearly all spent with the van. First week was a Brunswick Heads holiday with Mrs CR and daughter and two grandsons. We had our van and they had a tent, a 3 metre gazebo and awnings which was adequate while the weather was good, (the first 3 days).
I tried fishing off the rocks near the camp and as usual, did no good. Started to rock hop back and, wearing my u-beut Japanese safety boots, I slipped, jammed a foot between some rocks and fell backwards. I felt the leg was ready to snap but it didn't but I tore a toenail almost off and gashed the side of my foot. I was stuck hanging upside down until another guy came to my rescue and lifted me up. Limped back to Mrs CR who cleaned my wounds while I wiped the egg off my face. The lady in the next van was a nurse so she sorted me out and dressed my foot.
The 4th day the wind got up so the tarps came down and the 5th day the storm hit, wind and rain bucketing down. Kids screaming, adults trying to hold the tent and mop up water that was flooding through. Put the kids in the van with their mother and Mrs CR and I tended to the tent etc. After that the slightest noise from wind or similar would set the kids off again. Pack up on day 7 was not fun with everything still wet. Most of the tent and sundry equipment was carried in the truck and had to be delivered to daughter.
Home one day and then had to set off for Sydney to assist my 80 year old sister rearrange her furniture. The highlight of the trip down was to spend a night with @Billrw136 and his lovely wife. Booked into Lane Cove Tourist Park for 7 nights. Was not put on the grassy sites that another member mentioned but it was not bad, not far from ammenities. Their wi-fi was not real good as you had to sit within about 5 metres of the office to get reception so it did not get used much.
Shifting bookcases and chest of drawers and more books than the local library, had us busy for the week while my sister sat and watched, issuing the occaisional instruction. Tempers were tested over the time and some were found wanting so it was good to get on the road home again. Sydney traffic is not enjoyable :barbershop_quartet_member:
so I was glad to leave it even though it did rain for the two days driving home.:rain:
Arrived home, emptied the van and put it in its hidey hole then put the cricket on and put my feet up.
