Free camped here for one night before our destination Hervey Bay. Very limited number of sites. When we arrived, someone else was packing up their camper trailer, so we decided to wait to get their spot. It was quite lovely. Beautiful spot to swim in. A canoe would have been lovely also if we had one. The locals told us that it used to be popular spot before the floods a couple of years ago. It apparently used to be packed out with campers on both sides of the river. Now, the sites are so limited, you could fit 5 - 6 caravans, but it would be tight.
The only negative was that some of the previous campers could not dig a hole or dispose of their toilet paper properly. Otherwise we were the only ones staying there at that time, but the locals did come down for a swim, and it was great having a chat to them. The kids loved swimming there. We would stay there again. If you look in the distance, you will see our van.
