Hello,

I was quoted $390 for a spare rim and tyre from Jayco Sydney for the above caravan. We have the 15" wheels

I have been looking on Gumtree/eBay for second hand wheels but have not come across any that are a reasonable price.

I suppose $390 is not too bad (including the 10% discount because we bought the van from Jayco).

Has anyone gone down the route of sourcing an extra spare rim/tyre and are there any alternate rims that anyone knows about that will fit?

If you find a "genuine" Jayco wheel on Gumtree in Brisbane/Gold Coast it may be mine as I lost it on the M1 12 months ago and I spotted some mongrel picking it up while walking looking for it. >:(. However I bought a steel wheel and tyre for under $300 which now sits as my spare.

Just get a rim that fits and add a tyre, really don't need a Jayco rim for an extra spare, you will never get your money back.
Take your spare to a tyre shop and get them to size it up then you know for sure. I fitted some RoH rims to my old one, they were Nissan 6 studs and way better load rating than the Jayco Thailand rubbish.

Hello Jared.

Check with Jayco about the off set or back space for the rims on your van.

If you get this wrong your tries could rub on the inner or outer guard, most tire retailers will help you out, if it is a spare just to get you home go steel rim, you will save some money.

Below is form a post I started some time back.

Hello All.
I contacted Jayco about the offset on my 14.44 Expander and they quickly replied that the back space should be 3.5”.
On line search of back space to offset comes up with 3.5” back space = -12 off set.
To confirm this, I checked a rim manufacture and they told me their -11 rims will do the job.
So Jayco 14.44 expander off set is -12.
You will still need to check rim & tire load ratings and your insurance if you decide to change wheels.

I got a second hand rim and new tyre from a tyre shop as we needed a second spare for our trip. Just took my actual spare in and they matched it no problems. All up cost around $100 (was in 2016).

Steel Landcruiser or Patrol. Needs the large hub and most alloy car rims have too small a hub. I bought a chromie for $25. Ill take a pic of it on Thursday if I remember
