I think it really means it's not a capable as the other Utes. Capacity reductions apply as with all other Utes as you start to add payload

Manual is 3.5t though

Guess but Toyota have always been conservative, look at the prado. When Isuzu had 3t and all there competitors had 3.5t the next years model remarkedly had 3.5t too with FA diff !!! Personally I like a tow car to have more KGs than what its towing and I certainly don't rate many of the modern things to 3.5. I wouldn't even want 3.5 behind the cruiser tbh
