Hi there.
New lurker here, who can now show him self.
We just got ourselves a 2013 17.56-2 OB and am very happy for it.
This will be perfect for us, being a family of 5. Kids are 11 & 8 yr twins.
Very much looking forward to getting it out and about, the way it is going, the first trip away in it will be about 4,500 k's. over 2 weeks to country Vic and back.
Me on my own for 3 days getting there, then the tribe flying in. That's gonna be fun picking them up at Melbourne Airport with the van in tow. :biggrin-26:
Anyway, thanks for the very helpful info I have found here, we 1st wanted one of these 5 years ago but a illness changed that.
Got some time to make up for now.
Cheers
Dave

Great to have you onboard @DaveR and a great looking set up. The 17.56.2 is the ideal layout for a family of 5 I reckon, so versatile and without being a behemoth to tow. Good luck with it.

In regards to the airport, I would be very careful bringing the van in and would consider leaving it locked up somewhere local for an hour or so whilst you do the run into the airport. Plenty of caravan in Campbellfield near the airport that might let you borrow a patch of concrete.

Look forward to seeing the trip report and pics from your time down this way when you get the chance.

I agree about the airport, I would also try and leave it somewhere as I am not sure there is anywhere you can park it there. Most probably is but never had to look.
Even if you left it lock up in a suburb near by would be easier for you.
have a great trip!

Welcome to the forum @DaveR, nice looking rig.

I can't blame you for getting away from the Gold Coast at the moment, rain almost constant for the last couple of weeks.

Enjoy your time down with the "Mexicans", they really are a great bunch of people especially the members of this forum. If you get a chance to meet any of them jump at it as they can help in many ways.
Just be aware, they talk of a funny ball game they call "footie". :behindsofa:

Thanks everyone.
Its not my 1st time dragging a trailer through the pick up area at an airport. I enjoy the challenge. I'll sit up the road, to the north, then wait for the call saying we're outside.
