Hey guys, I'm chasing some advice. At the moment I am looking at getting a "good" camera to take away on family trips. I am leaning towards mirrorless as I see it as newer technology. My budget is around the $2000 mark at present and I am looking at the Canon EOS M5.

I have no idea on what lens(es) I may need, so advice on this would be awesome. I am mainly going to use it to shoot the landscape, the kids running around etc. Nothing super high end.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks

Pete

My view on cameras change all the time but at the moment a Fuji xt 10 is hard to beat. You can get it with a 18-55 kit lens which is a good unit for the price. I think if you shop around it will set you back around the $1000 mark all up. It's not a professional camera but can give you professional results. I love that it's small but has enough dials to be able to have most things at your fingertips with out the need to use menus.

While I shoot with Nikon cameras normally with the right tweaks this Fuji gives amazing skin tones "sooc" straight out of camera.

For what's it's worth I've been a full time pro photographer for 13 years. I would never use this camera for work but I would never use a pro camera for travel ( they are too big and bulky ).
