Nice work with the mods!
We had that same model, was great so roomy. The massive cupboards are brilliant for a van that size. And they tow like a dream! We used to just use sleeping bags for the kids and layed them across the top of the folded bunk .
If you haven't already look under the solar panel to read the spec on the label.
Cheers

Top marks for those mods, except the wheel carrier !! the straps won't do the job, they tend to stretch and move, slipping off and your wheel will bounce away.
If you can make a set up that are like braces on trousers which tie down across the tyre going across the tread they will stay in place....................had similar on truck once, strap was a failure, always had to adjust it and it wore out, ended up with a S/S band in same position as strap, it was very flexible and was bolted on one side and had a clamp on the other, worked well.

PS: Don't forget to tighten that loose screw on your awning barrell, right hand side of barrell....

Thanks Drover, I will keep an eye on the straps on the maiden trip (600kms) and will check it regularly. I have the ability to make a band over the top and use an over Center latch if it comes loose and may end up doing this as the padlock and cable isn't really what I wanted to do.

Will tighten the screw as well. Thanks for the advice ;)

Cheers Max,

Thanks Pauly

We looked for a while and glanced past a couple of the Discovery's thinking we wanted a Starcraft with bunks until I realised the bed was an issue with my height. You are also spot on with the cupboard space!!!
I will have a look for a label under the solar, thanks for the tip :)

Cheers Max,

Been chipping away at getting some additional shelves in the robe and draws of some sort plus a shelf above the water pump to make better use of the wheel arch cabinet for a little while, just been struggling with time of late. Jagged a pantry door from masters in an ASH colour that was pretty dame close for the prickly sum of $6.00. Kicking myself that I didn't get a couple of them but I just don't have room to store them.

The more I work on the van the more I can tell the jayco assemblers really have no structured plans to work with! Either that or they just don't care how it's built.

A few pics of what I have done.

They look great. where did you get the drawers from?

Hi @Brougham

I got them from Bunnings, they were a little pricey at about $60.00 each but they are as deep as the wardrobe on our 17.55 Discovery. I liked the bottom mounted slides as it meant I didn't have to pack out the sides for a normal draw runner. Ideally if I could of found the runners I might of made my own draws, but this was easy and fitted in 10mins.

This is what we have.

If you made the drawers yourself they'd be a hell of a lot heavier.

We had a cabinet maker look at fitting out ours and even he said "no way" .....the weight increase for wood, aluminium etc is incredible.....and, IMHO, not worth it.

This seems to be the solution.

Hi peeps,

I'm having a bit of a complex trying to identify my solar panels and have just about lost my cool with it and hoping someone has some insite on them........

No idea what brand or output (would like to know what brand and size) but have the dimensions of the complete panel and cells.

Panel is 540mm x 1620mm x 35mm.
Has 2 rows of 10 cells.
Cells are approx 150mm x 255mm
I see it regularly outputting 21v-22v
And see it pumping out 8amps if I have had something draw some charge.

It is the odd cell configuration that seems to be the hard part to nail down. I have done the video trick to see if there are numbers underneath but can't make out anything??
