Hello everyone !!! Put deposit on a 17.56.1, upgrading from an 09 Swan.
Loved the Swan, but looking to do some bigger trips where overnighters are easier. (The other half is more excited about the A/C I think)
Pick it up in a couple of weeks as the current owners have it booked in for a service so will let them do that for us. Planning a weekender trip to familiarize ourselves before our longer trip next Aust Day.
This one doesnt have external aerial point on the door side, wonder how hard that is to get done, auto elec or Jayco?

Congrats and welcome to the forum @firthy What year and extras/mods does it have?
Plenty of reading on here for advice and help to spend your dollars ;)

You will love the 17.56 as it's a great model (Bit biased here as we have the 17.56.2)

Good on you! That's a transition many of us have made.

Re antenna...it depends on a number of things ....is there an onboard antenna or do you have to fit one? If the antenna is there with an internal coax point, adding the external is easy. I'd use an antenna guy rather than an auto electrician.

If it not already fitted, I'd still use an antenna guy as he can do a clean install, test the whole setup and you'll get what you want. You'll need a booster if it's not there already.

You might need a 12v external socket as well.

Thanks Guys, it's a 2012 model, has a windup Roof antenna already with a built in booster so might try an antenna guy first. Not a heap of extras, has Rooftop a/c , full alpine annexe but the condition was very good, owned by a little old lady who only went to church in it lol.
Saw a few and the condition and what it was suited us just right. Previous owners had older kids so hasn't been worn out and mistreated like some we looked at.

swag to
swag with tarps to
camping trailer to
swan to
expanda to
journey pop top and finally to
starcraft full height!

They told me that would happen way back but didnt believe them!

Enjoy !

Welcome to the forum @firthy, I'm sure you will enjoy the extra relaxing time when you set up and pack up in comparison to the Swan.

We bucked the trend moving from a tent straight to a 21ft Expanda, mainly after watching our friends and travelling partners with a Swan battling with Velcro and canvas whilst we watched on :)
