Review:
The venue of our first official family holiday, we were lucky to share it a bunch of other forumites in a weekend hosted by @17triton.

The CP is a perfect low key getaway that is accessible easily from most directions and not really too far from anything in the West. It's not one of these big shiny Big 4 or chain CP's, so don't expect holiday programs, jumping pillows and brand spanking new facilities. What you can expect though is a beautiful quiet setting, where you feel safe and welcome.

Hank at the front desk is a ripper at the front desk and couldn't be more hospitable. The ensuite sites are reasonably sized and even a noob like me could put our 17ftr on there easily enough. They are also reasonably flat and didn't required any kind of levelling ramps or similar. The ensuites themselves are clean, robust and the one we had was possibly the sole reason the water in the lake was so low... Awesome pressure through a high flow head!

As for things to do, there is the lake to fish in (if you don't want to catch anything), and a great walking track that circumnavigates it right next to the lake. You are a stroll into town with it's small country town style shops and great local playground. The bakery is top draw. We also took an expedition up into Mt Cole to do some 4x4ing. Ultimately though you'll need to entertain yourselves, and we did that pretty easily with some bikes, footies, beers and the fires which you are allowed to have (most times of the year).

In summary, I reckon this is a ripper, and the kind of park I'm always on the look out for. Given it's under 2 hours from our house I don't think the next 12 months will see us without a repeat visit.

Don't forget to mention the winery too, went Michael Unwin wines as a group and got a guided tour and very generous tastings servings. Also CO
was good for big vans managed to get the 21.65 Silverline on no problems . Nice walk around the lake and would be a nice walk or ride into town. Particularly good was the open fire and kids enjoyed toasting the marshmallows.

We got away to Beaufort again on the weekend and it remains a personal fave...

Hank once again gave us the "mates rates treatment" and we were the only people there. Which is unsurprising given it's Beaufort. In August. And the forecast was crap. And it was freezing.

Parking was a little soft on the grass and the lake was still low, but we loved it any rate.

The locals were playing at the adjacent oval which which meant we had free of charge country footy. The locals put on a decent show too, thumping Learmonth.

Not sure if @17triton is planning an "annual" there with the National meet, but I reckon we'll be there in warmer months soon enough. Within very easy striking distance from home.

A lot more water this time @Smergen !!! We'd be in an annual meet for sure!

I reckon the photos might be @jacbaz, as the level was as low as we've seen it out of the 3 times we've been there. This is surprising given how wet it's been over the past few months and I would have thought some of the water could have made it's way to the lake.

Certainly in need of a catch up, want to pick your brain in prep for our Big Trip
