I am looking to purchase a Starcraft or an expanda. Like the idea of the ease - no set up except popping up the roof of the Starcraft but am unsure about the bunk bed height between the two bunks for kids age 10 and 12 it seems quite narrow. How have others found this with their kids. Also asked about changing the bottom bunk to a tri fold like the expanda and was told no does anyone know if possible to change. Thanks

My 13 and 15 year old kids are fine in our setup. When they were little they could sit up in bed but as they grew taller that's now impossible.
Hasn't stopped them sleeping well though. (We are away now and they are still in bed!). Here's a photo of the beds so you can see it. Love our 20.62-3.

We also have the 17.58.3 with 7 and 9 year old boys. No problems at all, with the 7 year old on the bottom bunk. He loves it, and would sleep in there all day if we left the curtain drawn!

I'm a little more "robust" than Shannon, and I can sleep in the bottom bunk of our 22.68-1 (@Shannon - only 100kg, you lucky lucky bar stool :) ). The top bunk is the domain of my son - and he's a great long streak of pelican sh!t (nearly 6' and he's only 13). Bunks are bunks - there isn't a heap of room for older kids, but it's do-able. Bunks in any van are a compromise - best way we've found is to keep them out of the bunk for as long as possible. That means endless games on Uno, Yahtzee etc when its raining, and plenty of fishing, kicking the footy, and playing bocce when it's not.

I'm possibly a little more robust than Doc, I have slept on the top bunk of our 17:56:2 when we had it, too lazy to set it up during the floods when we brought her home, tight but not that bad
