Hello All!

New here, found site looking for info.

Anyway, Was after opinions on disco 17.55-5 sh, have decided to move on from our current expanda and have seriously looked at this model or possibly another new expanda.

Have been given a price of 37k for 2013 17.75-5 sh model with a/c 150ltr fridge + roll out awning, drive away.
Is the winegurad aerial an option or a standard item. Have never bought a van new before.
What else would I need to include apart from annexe which I don't really need atm.

Is this price OK?
Also, how do they tow and what is the average Tare weight?
Will be towing with a Holden Adventra AWD 5.7ltr, 2100kg tow capacity with 210kg ball.
I have set the car up well for towing with trans cooler, adjustable shocks standard, redarc brake controller and recentlly replaced the whole towbar system as I didn't like factory one!

Anyway it's an awesome and underrated car to tow with and a lot comfortabler than the 3 4wds I owned and towed with previuosly.

Opinions, tips and ideas would be much apreciated!

There is a few members on here with that model Hamish who will be able to help you out with all your questions mate.

I like that model too its a great van. The wind up aerial is an option and we find it very handy. I'm not sure if you camp off th grid but maybe consider a battery pack option for the free camps.

Have a look HERE and HERE :)

Hi Hamish
taking on advice from this awesome forum, we have ordered a 17.55.5 sh OB ( from Canberra jayco - a bit of a drive but worth it compared to Sydney jayco), delivery early june, with battery pack, solar (thrown in show special), sound system, tv and aerial, extended draw bar, bike rack, 150 fridge, upgraded a/c and drifter control panel. Will get annex later. From others with this van it seems to be a useful configuration. is that price for an outback?
cheers
Geoff

No, just the bigger fridge and A'C.

Is the shower model a heavier unit as it seems this way with the expanda?

Yer definitely adds more weight but personal opinion if you can fit it in with the weight get the shower toilet model.

Those 2am toilet visits will be much more ejoyable when it is pouring down outside :)!!!

Since our first shower toilet model we would never have anything less even it meant stretching the weight relationship :)!

Visiting the dump point is not the worst chore is it?. The cassette is easy to empty.
I try to time emptying it so Mrs XF ends up cleaning up after my barbecuing!

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh don't give away our secrets :)!!!!

Yup I agree, mrs lizz ussually gives the bathroom a wipe over while I am dumping it, its easier than cleaning.

In more ways than one lol :)!

Easy job, but I feel there are a million eyes peering at me as I carry the cassette through the park. I usually try to do an early morning reconnaissance mission.

Mrs Cruza said it would be a good idea to get a toilet shower van and she would take care of dumping the toilet, well yes on the 1st trip she did, but somehow she forgot about our little deal o_O since then :)
