The little 2.5lt @Crusty181

@Bluey getting 15-16s for me (non-towing) i could live with, but when your doubling that and a bit for towing, it gets a little crazy. Very reputable workshop that completed the works and it has plenty of power, espescially down low, so I dont think i could bring myself to going back to standard and reflashing my ECU.

We'll see what next weekends trip brings around figures wise.......I see some nice 200series in the local rag for a small fortune
Ive gt the the V6 which every expert knows is the greatest vehicle ever, but that's for a standalone thread. I traded up from a 2009 2.5ltr, same color and transferred the canopy so the neighbors where oblivious (I dont like change too much).

We had a 16.49 OB back then and the 2.5 Nav had a Steinbauer chip which despite all the neck cracking, nose bleeding reviews, but it was very subtle. All that general Nav chitta chatta aside I was getting 10 free balling, and around 14 towing, but mine was manual. One of the major fuel issues with the 2.5 configuration was that damn auto. I had an 'associate' with an auto, his father inlaw with and auto Pathfinder and a ebay dude I bought some stuff off all getting way north of 20s towing small vans.

I had a loan auto model when the dealer needed to keep mine for a few days warranty work, and it was easy to see why it they were thirsty when combined with the catalytic converter it was constantly revving much much higher than how a normal human would drive a manual.

Long story short, the autos are a shocker for towing and gave the model a un-deserved horrible name, and the upshot is if yours
is an auto and your towing your stuck with really bad fuel usage ..... possible not as bad as your getting but at least well into the 20's with a small van. What size is your van??

Yep mine is the dreaded Auto! And you have hit the nail on the head io think....i will be stuck with terrible usage unfortunately (no matter how much fine tuning of things i do to the van and rig.

We have just picked up our new 19.61-3 OB.......so it is a big tall van with a tare of close to 2.4t, but we had at least another 200kgs inside it loaded, plus the ute was chockas with fridges, spare tyres, 4 x days of shopping in Perth! (yeah we dont see the shops much from up our way), oh and the whole fam. So fair to say she was a fair load.

Again im happy with the way it pulled for a small engine, somewhat surprised at times, that economy but :(
The hardest thing will be letting it go as the $$$$$ ive put into it is a fair amount. But an ending is a beginning somewhere else........

Just wondering what power unit are they putting in ,is it the setec 35amp series 3 which is the big black box or have they used the new j hub j35 in your van.

I have been told my new Starcraft 19.61-3 will be here for next friday. The only disappointment new is after trying to upgrade the van with a compressor fridge and being told no they have just this week release it as an Option.

As they still have it are they able to swap it over?

Have a great day satdy @Smash !!
Our tare is 2378, atm is 2978 and gtm 2770.
They can vary from build to build.
Just check the difference between tare and atm for your payload.

Gyday @greynt
We have it under the bunk right at The back.
image.jpeg
There's a duct pointing up the van through the kitchen and a duct that points toward the ensuite.

Great heater quickly warms the van!! , could easily turn it into a sauna! just darn noisy compared to gas heaters we've had on previous vans but couldn't go gas this time.

Oh poo so it does..... There looks to be a bit more clearance from the hatch than ours though , needs 300mm I think.

image.jpeg image.jpeg
I wanted to run the exhaust out the back wall but got told I could not . Would have been a lil awkward getting to the cover behind my Gerry holders if we did anyhow.
I would have preferred gas but next best thing.

What was the reason for not having it in the rear wall thats where I am hoping to mount mine .I need to replace my rear bumper because I want twin wheel carrier.

Supposedly gas Regulations?
Never looked further into it after that, hopefully they weren't telling porky pies.
